Moorend

Class Q Barn Conversion

Class Q Barn Conversion

Moorend is one of many barn conversions we have successfully completed through the Class Q route.

If you have an agricultural barn, it is possible to convert it into a house without formal planning permission under Class Q permitted development rights.

This legislation exists as an opportunity to bring unused redundant agricultural buildings into viable use.

In 2024, the number of homes you can build under Class Q has increased. You can now build up to ten dwellings with a maximum floorspace of 150 sqm, and a maximum cumulative floorspace of 1000 sqm.

For example, you can create 10 dwellings of 100 sqm each (totalling 1000 sqm), or a mix of sizes, like 6 dwellings at 150 sqm and 1 at 100 sqm (totalling 1000 sqm).

Contact us to find out how we can help turn your old agricultural building into a new residential development.
